The Irish Wheelchair Association is one of Ireland’s leading representative organisations and service providers for people with physical disabilities. We were founded on the belief that everyone should be able to live a life of choice and equality. We deliver our service throughout 58 community centres throughout Ireland.
You’re all welcome to the IWA community centre in the Gilbert Centre, Mallow. Tea and a biscuits on the go, so come along in to see us and have a look around.
The IWA operates its day services from the Gilbert Centre from Monday to Thursday.
The IWA provides opportunities for the person to socialise and be active by inviting them to join one or more of the centres programmes of interest; educational courses; information and engagement sessions; sport; social events and/or joint projects. The service provides accessible buses, where available, for transport to and from the centre and for social events and trips. The person has a lead role in the planning and evaluation of their service, together with their preferences and support requirements.
