Headway provides services and support for people affected by an acquired brain injury (ABI). Founded in 1985, we also work to heighten public and political awareness of ABI and the impact it has on individuals, families, and carers. Our mission is “to bring about positive change in the lives of those affected by an acquired brain injury”.
Headway has been providing day rehabilitation services in Mallow since January 2010 and we are now based in the Gilbert Centre two days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 3.30pm. The service brings together people, from the North Cork area, with an ABI to take part in group work with a client-centred approach. This approach combines a range of cognitive, creative, social, educational and rehabilitative activities in a supportive environment.
